A Simpler Candle
We’re Sean and Lyndsee, the founders behind Mountain Top Candle Shop. We started with a simple idea: candles should be simple things. Wax, a wick, and something that makes them smell good.
Once we started paying closer attention to the candles we were burning at home, we realized how complicated they had become. We weren’t interested in reinventing the candle. We wanted to get back to the basics, using natural materials we recognized, understood, and chose for a reason.
That idea became the foundation of Mountain Top Candle Shop.
Fewer Ingredients. More Intention.
We make our candles and melts with a coconut-soy wax blend and scent them only with pure essential oils. No fragrance oils, and no unnecessary extras simply because they’ve become standard in candle making.
Working with fewer ingredients takes more effort, not less. Essential oils behave differently from synthetic fragrance, natural waxes can be temperamental, and every scent needs its own balance. We spend a lot of time testing, adjusting, and starting over when something isn’t right.
What began as a preference for a simpler candle now guides everything we make: use what is needed, understand why it is there, and leave out what isn’t.
